'The Body Art Showcase'

NZ's Extreme Make Up Extravaganza

&

Special Effects Show

Not only do New Zealand’s finest artists compete across a diverse range of genres that includes special effects, fantasy, creatures, masks and body painting, but it is also attracting more international artists yearly.

This event will be held on Saturday 21 September, 2013 at the Bruce Mason Centre, Takapuna, an evening of celebrating creativity and entertainment featuring artists not only from around New Zealand but from all around the world.

Themed ‘The Circus’, ‘The NZ Body Art Show’ will be offering the audience contemporary and indigenous styles of body painting as well as special effects make-up for film and television.

Think hunchbacked scaly swamp monsters, esoteric glow in the dark children, and ethereal other world beings taking turns gliding across a continual cat walk and you have just some of the attractions at the ‘The NZ Body Art Show’.

The awards serve to showcase, acknowledge and promote the many talented and hard working New Zealanders practising this art form.

Our mission is to promote New Zealand as a centre of expertise in body art, make-up and special effects to both local and international film and television networks.

It’s our goal to place this event, not only on the local and national stage, but the world stage and establish Auckland City as an artistic and cultural center.

The ‘continual’ catwalk, centre stage, and themed music will feature over 90 of the country’s most exciting artists and performers.  Artist and models have ranged in age from 9 to 68, male and female, all representing the diverse multicultural dimensions of our unique country.

Through the use of light, sound, and props, the audience will witness an ever-changing illusion.  Using state of the art audiovisual screens will enhance impact, capturing and displaying the intricate work of the artists.

The Bruce Mason Centre offers a premium venue for displaying our Sponsors and their support.
