I see the future of the BodyArt Awards as going from strength to strength and continuing to spread it wings to become a truly Internationally recognised and signature, iconic NZ event that all New Zealanders can be proud of.

The Event

The NZ Body Art Awards will be offering the audience contemporary and indigenous styles of body painting as well as special effects make-up for film and television. Think hunchbacked scaly swamp monsters, esoteric glow in the dark children, and ethereal other world beings taking turns gliding across a continual cat walk and you have just some of the attractions at the NZ Body Art Awards.

The awards serve to showcase, acknowledge and promote the many talented and hard working New Zealanders practising this art form. Our mission is to promote New Zealand as a centre of expertise in body art, make-up and special effects to both local and international film and television networks. All profit raised from the event will go towards education funding, as well as promotion and advancement of the industry within New Zealand.

We strongly support the dyslexia foundation, breast screening, ruel foundation and the New Zealand Body Art Trust.

The catwalk and themed music features over 90 of the country’s most exciting collection of artists and performers.

Mission Statement

NZ Body Art Awards aims to promote body art and special effects make-up to enhance a positive image of this exciting and diverse art form and to encourage creative excellence amongst its practitioners.

Vision

To establish an annual iconic awards event for the purpose of promoting, showcasing and celebrating excellence in the art of body art and special effects make-up, and to raise money for the NZ Body Art Trust in order to provide funding to educate, advance and promote the body art industry, and its network of professionals, together with related industries.
